Tour itinerary

Day 1
Lisbon
Reception of the participants at the Airport and transfer to the Hotel by Hertz Ride / Touratech staff, welcome drink, dinner and Tour presentation.

Day 2
Lisbon – Tróia
The magic village of Sintra traces the beginning of this tour. This mystic land full of legends will take us to the western point of Europe Mainland, where the ground ends and the sea appears: the Cabo da Roca. Travelling south, we will meet one of the most beautiful roads in Europe, the Marginal, between Cascais and Estoril. This takes you via the bridge over the Tejo river, right in the heart of Lisbon, and will continue through the slopes of Serra da Arrábida. Following the mountain road  you will see the blue waters of the Sado river with Tróia, on the background, being our final destination.

Day 3
Tróia – Marvão
In the beginning of the day we will be around the Costa Vicentina, with the sea always present, until we get into the Alentejo plains with golden colours directly to one of the oldest European cities – Évora. In Alentejo land, we will have dinner with a wine tasting and then we will ride to the most beautiful castles in and around Marvão, passing throught Monsaraz.

Day 4
Marvão – Almeida
Going up north, on our way to Serra da Estrela, the highest point of Portugal, the mountain roads will break radically the usual landscapes. Then, we will pass through Monsanto, the most Portuguese village in the north of Portugal and through Sortelha, one of the most iconic villages in Portugal.

Day 5
Almeida – Pinhão
Another fantastic day to the north area. We will pass through the Rodrigo Castle right through the international Douro. The first Douro view is in Barca D’Alva, closer to the Spanish frontier, and we will go straight to Freixo de Espada à Cinta, in Trás-os-Montes area, where the cliff landscapes will surprise everybody. We will arrive to Pinhão at the end of the day.

Day 6
Pinhão – Viana do Castelo
We will be spending the first part of the day around the Douro in the valleys where they grow the grapes of one of the most popular wines in the world, the Port wine.
Passing through Pinhão and Peso da Regua, the heart of the winery region of this country, with lots of farms illustrating a true postcard of natural beauty and human work.
We head north passing through Amarante, the region of Minho, Viana do Castelo, the land of the goldsmiths and devotions, even visiting the so-called cradle of the nation, birthplace of Portugal, Guimarães, saved forever by the huge castle and the spirit the first king of Portugal, Dom Afonso Henriques.
Ponte de Lima and Ponte da Barca are two of the landmarks of the region, known for green, fruity and light wines.

Day 7
Viana do Castelo – Porto
Output destination to the great city of Oporto, where the Douro meets the Atlantic Ocean, where the cellars of port wine and Rabelo boats that in the past carried the wine barrels in the river, these beautifying elements of a unique urban landscape. Passing through the coast and the fishing villages we will reach Oporto to visit the city and its beauty and the day will end in the riverside zone.

Day 8
Porto – Lisbon
The course of the day changes direction, south is the direction we will follow down for several northern towns. A stop in Aveiro the city well known as the Portuguese Venice, for its canals and typical boats. The Buçaco will welcome us with the lush vegetation that abounds in this national forest.
Passing through Nazareth, land of fishermen and the tradition of the women’s seven skirts, that today is one of the major surfing destinations of giant waves and Peniche, a wonderful bay that serves one of the world’s best waves. With Lisbon on our horizon closed with a flourish a trip that will mark those who participate, a cosmopolitan city that mixes like few the weight of history with modernity and open-minded. The end of day light on the Tagus River is a postcard that will last long in the imagination of those who visit.

Day 9
Lisbon
On this day we will visit the city of Monumental Historical Lisbon and a guided tour of the most emblematic neighborhoods and places, we will carry for all its grandeur and splendor.
Farewell dinner in a typical Portuguese restaurant.
