After my rental application be confirmed can I change the booking details?

You can always change the reservation data, the changes will always be validated by Fun Car Rent and may suffer additional costs. To contact Fun Car Rent (+351/245 092 509)
or by email (reservas@fun-car-rent.com).

Are there any additional costs wich are not in the final reservation price?

Our rates include everything and we do not apply any additional charge. In case there are additional costs, our reservations department will inform you about it. If you disagree you can cancel your booking at any time.

At what time Fun Car Rent runs?

The hours of Fun Car Rent in our Memória office in Beirã / Marvão is as follows:
Monday to Friday 9:30 to 13:00 and from 14:30 to18:00
Saturday from 9:00 to 13:00.
Sundays and holidays we are closed.

Can I be sure that the vehicle I booked is what you will deliver me?I

If there is no availability of the requested vehicle, Fun Car Rent can suggest changes to the customer booking request with a new vehicle. A booking is confirmed only after the client agrees with the changes. In individual cases, Fun Car Rent can deliver to the customer a similar or higher vehicle unit than which was booked.

Can I drive a hired car in Spain or other European countries?

The rental is valid throughout mainland Portugal. If you wish to travel to other European countries, you should select departure abroad (extra). The rented vehicle shall not circulate outside of Portugal without permit from Fun Car Rent.

Can I drive an hired car in Spain or other European countries with a foreign drive license?

For citizens outside the EU, to circulate in Spain or other European countries, it is necessary to obtain an international driving license.

Can I extend the rental periode?

If you want to make a lease extension, you shall notify Fun Car Rent with a minimum of 24 hours notice. This extension will always be subject to the approval of Fun Car Rent.

Can I make a reservation for someone else?

Anyone can book through our website for someone else and pay the amount with your credit card on Paypal. However, the one who pick up the vehicle must present a credit card in his name or a statement of authorization from the credit card holder and a copy of the document for signature confirmation.

Can I make reservations by email?

If you prefer to make a reservation via email, please send us an email with all the information requested in the online reservation form.

Can I pay the hire by check?

We do not accept checks as payment. For online bookings, payment must be done with PayPal. To book at our office, payment can be made by cash or PayPal.

Can I pick up and collect a vehicle elsewhere than at the Fun Car Rent office, eg.: in a Hotel?

Yes you can, you should contact Fun Car Rent reservas@fun-car-rent.com by email to get the quotation for delivery or pick up service of a different preset for Fun Car Rent site.

Can I pick up or return a vehicle outside the opening hours of Fun Car Rent?

When making a booking, you can put the exact hours you want to pick up and return the vehicle. If the time is outside our opening hours a charge out of hours will automatically activated and included in the final booking.

Can I pick up or return a vehicle to a holiday or a Sunday?

Since the reservation is confirmed by Fun Car Rent, the pick up or return of a vehicle can be done on a holiday or Sunday

Can I return the rental car in a different country than where the set up?

You must always inform Fun Car Rent about what you want, if accepted by Fun Car Rent, you must accept the costs associated with that return.

Can I return the vehicle before the contract end, do you return me the amount of days until the contract end?

In case of early return of the vehicle, Fun Car Rent does not make any kind of refund.

Can I use a check to the franchise?

We do not accept checks for franchises, the franchise security should always be made with valid credit card on PayPal.

Cancellation / Change of Booking

Once you have made your reservation, the following cancellation charges and changes in reserves will apply:

  • Changes to reservations after the initial marking, have no additional costs since made in due time;
  • Cancellations of bookings within 30 days of the rental beginning, have an additional cost of € 50;
  • For cancellations of reservations 29-15 days of the rental beginning, have a cost of 50% of the total reservation price;
  • In booking cancellations 14-1 days of the rental beginning or no show, the total price of the reservation will be charged;
  • In exceptional cases (eg.: collecting vehicle outside the national territory) will be charged the extra costs in addition to the normal cancellation charges.
Does the credit card holder must be present at the vehicle pickup?

The credit card holder does not have to be present at the vehicle pick up. The driver may submit a authorization statement from the credit card holder and a copy of the document for signature confirmation.

Does the prices include VAT?

Yes all our prices include VAT in accordance with the legislation.

How can I get quote for a long term rental?

Quotes for longer term rentals will always be given on consultation, send us an email to reservas@fun-car-rent.com with information about the rental duration you want, the type of car you require and the number of miles (Km) that you estimate make monthly.

How to know if my booking is confirmed?

When the online booking request is completed, the customer will receive an email with the receipt confirmation of the same. All reservations will be confirmed within a maximum 72 hours of booking and the confirmation will be made by email or by phone. If there is no availability of the requested vehicle, Fun Car Rent can suggest changes to the customer booking request. The booking is confirmed only after verification.

I had an accident what should I do?

You should contact Fun Car Rent immediately and proceed to the instructions you are given. The contact information of Fun Car Rent will always be present in the key of the car. Failing, always contact the police.

I have a foreign driving license, can I use your services?

Yes, you can use our services with a foreign driving license belonging to the EU or Brazil and circulate in nationwide. Ensure that you present an international driving license (with translation) if the local counter is not able to read your driver’s license (for example, if it is writen in a difficult language comprehension).

Is there a charge if I return the car with less fuel?

When the vehicle is returned with the fuel level lower than it had on delivery, the missing fuel amount will be charged to the client.

Is there any advance to make a reservation?

For online reservations, it must be made at least 72 hours in advance.

Must the driver be the credit card holder?

No, the driver does not need to be the credit card holder. However the credit card holder must be present. At vehicle pick up, the driver may submit a authorization statement from the credit card holder and a copy of the document for signature confirmation.

The vehicle broke what should I do?

Please contact immediately Fun Car Rent and proceed according to the instructions we wil give you. Fun Car Rent contacts will always be present in the documents pouch accompanying the car.

The vehicle was robbed what should I do?

Please contact immediately Fun Car Rent and proceed according to the instructions we wil give you. Fun Car Rent contacts will always be present in the documents pouch accompanying the car. Failing to contact us, please do so to the police authorities as fast as you can.

The vehicle was stolen, what should I do?

Please contact immediately Fun Car Rent and proceed according to the instructions we wil give you. Fun Car Rent contacts will always be present in the documents pouch accompanying the car. Failing to contact us, please do so to the police authorities as fast as you can.

What are the payment methods accepted by Fun Car Rent for reservations at the counter?

For reservations at the counter, the payment may be made in cash or PayPal.

What documents do I need when pick up the vehicle?

To pick up a vehicle from Fun Car Rent, you need a driving license, identity card or passport and credit card to deposit franchise.

What is the fuel policy applied by Fun Car Rent?

Fuel is not included in the rental price. The customer is obligated to return the car with fuel level equal to what was in the act of delivery and billed the difference that find missing at the time of collection, verified and confirmed by the concerned parties. The return of the vehicle with the fuel level above what was at the time of delivery is an option and responsibility of the customer, disengaging Fun Car Rent any refund.

What is the minimum age required to rent a car Fun Car Rent?

The minimum age required is 21 years old with 1 year of driving experience for Economic and Low Cost groups. 25 years old with 3 years of driving experience for the remaining groups.

When does the payment is made in an online reservation?

The payment for an online booking is made in full upon confirmation.
